Founder/President Michael Jordan
Award-winning Savannah, GA journalist and filmmaker Michael Jordan founded Cosmos Mariner Productions in 2007. Michael's initial vision was to create a venue for his historical documentaries and reporting on local military units. However, over the years the company has grown to create videos for a wide variety of corporate and nonprofit clients.
Michael is a western North Carolina native who got his start in television as an intern at the NBC affiliate in Charlotte, NC. Over the years, he worked on-air as a reporter at stations in Johnson City, TN, Macon, GA, and Savannah- eventually anchoring three nightly Monday-Friday newscasts on NBC affiliate WSAV/News 3.
Michael is an avid world traveler who has visited more than 50 countries on five continents. His travels have taken him beneath the waves aboard nuclear submarines, into war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan, and streaking off the decks of aircraft carriers. He is also a published author, having penned a best-selling coffee tables book about the squares of Savannah, a book about the hidden history of Savannah in the Civil War, and a guide book for a local house museum. Michael is married to Dr. Krista Wiegand, a fellow at the Howard Baker Center and professor of political science at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. They have one son, Joseph, and a cat named Tallulah.
